Looking back through photo reminders, I've been stitching the Worry Stitch project for a year towards the end of this month. My latest is stitched over a severed jumper sleeve sold in a rag collection. On assessing the efficacy of the project, the slowness of building up individual stitches is a sure manifestation of anxiety quietened through repetition. Working the same small cloth as it conforms to the tension of stacked stitching, the project becomes both familiar and comforting.
